Drive from Marrakech to the mountain village of Imlil (1,740m]. Meet your mountain guide and mule team. Begin the trek through the Mizane Valley, passing the shrine of Sidi Chamharouch. Arrive at the Toubkal Refuge (3,207m] for dinner and overnight. (Approx. 5-6 hours walking].
Early pre-dawn start for the summit push. After a steep climb, reach the peak of Mount Toubkal (4,167m] for breathtaking panoramic views of the Atlas and Sahara. Descend back to the refuge for lunch, then continue down to Imlil and transfer back to Marrakech. (Approx. 9-10 hours walking].
No technical climbing is required, but you should be in good physical condition and have experience with steep hiking and high altitude.
Spring (April-June] and Autumn (September-October] offer the best weather. Winter climbs (November-March] require specialized equipment and experience with snow.
